Door Is Open For Stephanie McMahon To Make WWE Return

The door is open for Stephanie McMahon to come back to WWE

The opportunity is there for Stephanie McMahon to make a return to WWE if she ever wishes to do so.

WWE President Nick Khan addressed the possibility of Stephanie McMahon coming back to WWE, saying the following on the Bill Simmons Podcast:

"Well, I don't know what the future holds, but with Vince as the chairman of the company, Paul, the head of creative. Me and the role that I'm in, you know, Stephanie wanted to do something with WWE, of course, WWE would embrace that. The WWE Universe would embrace that. I think she's enjoying some time off. And you know the drill. After grinding hard as you've grinded, hard as she grinded, to take a few months off, she still has school-age children; she and Paul do. I think she's enjoying herself."

Stephanie McMahon resigned from WWE on January 10, 2023 amid Vince McMahon forcing his way back into the company. Stephanie had been WWE Chairwoman and Co-CEO with Nick Khan at the time but Vince McMahon's election as Executive Chairman would have seen Stephanie demoted. It was also noted at the time of her resignation that McMahon didn't really need the money or the job and she had already decided to take a leave of absence in 2022 anyway.

Stephanie previously stepped away from WWE in May 2022 but she returned only weeks later after Vince McMahon stepped down as CEO and Chairman while an internal investigation was carried out. Stephanie would then be installed in those roles on a full-time basis when Vince "retired" in July 2022 after the United States Government opened investigations into unrecorded payments he made in relation to suppressing allegations of sexual misconduct and infidelity, and Donald Trump appearances on WWE TV.

Nick Khan addressed Stephanie McMahon's decision to resign from WWE, adding:

"Yeah. She decided to step away. Initially, she was on a leave of absence. Some of the Vince stuff started to happen. He stepped out for a moment. She was asked by Vince, by myself, by the board to come back. She came back, and we were extremely gracious for her in doing so. And ultimately, when Vince came back, she decided that, hey, she was ready to go and step out. I respect the decision. I wish she hadn't done that. And she knows that for me personally, she's a terrific executive and a terrific person. That's her decision. Her relationship with Vince is theirs. And once she made it, I have total respect for the decision."
