Search Warrant Executed Against Vince McMahon

A search warrant executed against Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon seemingly received a visit from federal agents in July.

McMahon resigned as WWE CEO and Chairman in July 2022 following a sexual misconduct and hush money scandal. This came after an internal investigation from the WWE Board of Directors noted that McMahon had spent tens of millions of dollars to suppress allegations of sexual misconduct and infidelity.

McMahon resigned after it emerged that federal prosecutors and the SEC had opened investigations into the payments as despite them being made by McMahon, they should have been declared in the company's accounts. The 77-year-old then forced his way back into WWE in January of 2023, being appointed Executive Chairman, and he agreed to sell WWE to Endeavor following WrestleMania 39, with WWE and UFC set to merge under TKO Group Holdings later this year.

The investigations from the United States Government remain ongoing despite McMahon's return to WWE, however, and it was revealed within WWE's Q2 2023 financial results that "federal law enforcement agents executed a search warrant and served a federal grand jury subpoena on Mr. McMahon" on July 17.

No charges have been filed against McMahon, it was noted in the filing. The WWE Executive Chairman is currently on medical leave after undergoing spinal surgery.
