Politics in Mexican wrestling are preventing another talent from working in NJPW.

It emerged earlier this week that Andrade El Idolo, and Rey Fenix and Penta Oscuro of The Lucha Brothers would not be appearing at the upcoming AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view on June 26 due to NJPW's working relationship with Mexico's CMLL promotion.

Andrade has performed twice for another Mexican promotion in AAA over the past year while The Lucha Bros are AAA regulars. Such are the issues between CMLL and AAA, though, that CMLL try to stop companies they have partnerships with from booking AAA talent.

While Andrade previously announced on Twitter that he was unable to work for NJPW, Dragon Lee has also confirmed he is unable to wrestle for the Japanese promotion, replying to El Idolo's tweet with: "Me neither, damn politics."

Dragon Lee previously performed for New Japan between 2016 and February 2020 and he is a former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion. Lee even re-signed with Ring Of Honor in 2020 as the promotion allowed him to perform for NJPW but politics have seemingly become an issue since he took on more AAA dates beginning in December 2021.

The former ROH World Television Champion was previously a CMLL talent between 2014 and September 2019.
