Dragon Lee To Miss WWE NXT New Year's Evil

No Dragon Lee at WWE NXT New Year's Evil

Dragon Lee won't be in action on tonight's special New Year's Evil edition of WWE NXT.

The NXT North American Champion announced he is unable to leave Mexico at the moment due to visa issues.

"Feliz año nuevo! Sad news to kick off the year, but due to visa issues I am unable to leave Mexico right now. Por eso, I will miss @WWENXT New Years Evil… But the LWO has a big surprise for the NQCC and the NXT Universe tomorrow night," Lee tweeted.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported that Dragon Lee's new work visa for WWE in the United States has been approved but did not arrive in time for him to travel back to the United States for New Year's Evil due to the holidays. Lee is expected to be back in the United States in the very near future, possibly as soon as Friday's episode of SmackDown. He simply needs the visa in his hands before heading back to the US.

Lee was set to team with LWO's Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde against No Quarter Catch Crew's Drew Gulak, Myles Borne, and Damon Kemp at New Year's Evil. NQCC attacked Lee on December 19 following his successful North American Title defence against Charlie Dempsey and Joe Coffey before Wilde and Del Toro made the save.

Lee has been North American Champion since defeating Dominik Mysterio at NXT Deadline on December 9.
