Drake Maverick And Killian Dain Become Number One Contenders To NXT Tag Titles

When they get their shot is unknown

Killian Dain and Drake Maverick have earned a future shot at the NXT Tag Team titles, by virtue of winning a number one contender's match.

Dain and Maverick defeated Tyler Breeze and Fandango on the kickoff portion of NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver, Night Two on Thursday night to earn the shot. Maverick pinned Breeze after being powerbombed onto him by Dain.

It's not known when Maverick and Dain will get their shot at the titles, which are currently held by Wes Lee and Nash Carter of MSK.

Lee and Carter won the vacant belts on night one of Stand and Deliver, defeating Grizzled Young Veterans and Legado Del Fantasma in a triple threat bout. The titles had been previously held by Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch, though they were held up on March 17, due to a shoulder injury sustained by Burch.

Maverick and Dain formed their partnership last summer, and began amassing wins on NXT. The two competed in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic in January, but were defeated by MSK in the quarterfinal round.
