Dream Match Planned For AEW Dynasty

All Elite Wrestling are on the road to Dynasty on April 6, and a dream match is reportedly planned for the show.

After weeks of teasing across AEW TV, it seems the plan is to finally run Mercedes Moné vs. Athena, after Moné overcame Athena’s protege and ‘Minion’ Billie Starkz on the March 19 edition of AEW Dynamite. Per a report from Fightful Select, the insertion of Starkz into Moné’s recent matches and storylines - mainly as a spectator - is no accident, and is all geared towards Moné vs. Athena.

If and when the match should happen, it is not known which if any of Moné’s or Athena’s titles will be on the line - Mercedes is currently 10 months deep into her reign as TBS Champion, whilst Athena has held the ROH Women’s World Championship for well over 800 days.

Interestingly, despite sharing the ring on over 30 occasions, Athena and Moné have never wrestled one-on-one, with their last match together taking place over six years ago.
