Drew McIntyre Legitimately Stuck In The UK Ahead Of WWE SummerSlam

Drew McIntyre announced on Sunday night that he is stuck in the United Kingdom ahead of SummerSlam after he was prevented from boarding his flight to the United States due to not having his US passport with him.

"It was quite the week I've had. You want to know how it's been capped off? I can't get back into America. They wouldn't let me board my flight...I'm in England still at my buddy's wedding, what a wedding it was. Planning to go back, train for SummerSlam, but no, no, no, no, no, I got blocked. Wife and I walked up to the gate trying to check in, always goes perfectly fine. Not this time. 'Sorry, you don't have your US passport. I know who you are. I know you've lived there for a long time. I know you're showing me pictures of your US passport and your Global Entry and it doesn't matter. I know exactly who you are with your property and the likes, but we can't let you in the country,'" McIntyre stated. 

The former WWE Champion noted his wife has returned to the United States without him, but questions arose around if the post was simply a storyline as McIntyre proceeded to cut a promo about Jelly Roll, calling him a cow.

Fightful Select and PWInsider have reported, however, that McIntyre is legitimately stuck in the United Kingdom, with PWInsider noting the former Intercontinental Champion was denied boarding his flight as he only had his UK passport with him. WWE sources told Fightful they are confident the situation will be resolved, although they were unhappy about McIntyre having to go through such a situation.

McIntyre is scheduled to team with Logan Paul to take on Jelly Roll and Randy Orton on night one of SummerSlam on August 2. The match was set up following McIntyre's return in early July.
