Update On Injured AEW Wrestler

It was revealed last year that The Blade was out of action in AEW due to an injury, but he was still under contract with the company. Over a year since the last word of The Blade, a new update has been provided. 

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, not much had changed in The Blade’s status. It is noted that he had a “pretty serious” spinal fusion surgery, something not a lot of wrestlers returned from, especially at his age, with The Blade now 45 years old. The Blade is still under AEW contract after the last year of not competing, with no word on when or if a return will take place. When it comes to a potential comeback, despite it being something that not many in his position have returned from, Sapp explained that The Blade is known within wrestling locker rooms as being very workout and nutrition driven. 

The Blade had originally been hoping to return by All In 2024 in London. His tag team partner, The Butcher, has been wrestling in singles action in his absence, though hasn't been wrestling on TV since all the way back in February, losing to Gabe Kidd on Collision.
