Drew McIntyre Returns On SmackDown After "Quitting" WWE, Attacks CM Punk

Drew McIntyre is already back in WWE after walking out on Monday

On the June 17 episode of Monday Night RAW earlier this week, Drew McIntyre “quit” WWE following his heartbreaking loss in front of his home country at Clash At The Castle 2024, when CM Punk interfered to cost him the World Heavyweight Championship. McIntyre cut a very short promo on RAW where he said “screw this company” and subsequently quit, walking out despite protests from Triple H.

McIntyre didn’t stay away from WWE for long, and has already returned to WWE programming. On last night’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown, CM Punk was in attendance in front of a Chicago crowd. After featuring in the opening segment in which he was saved by Cody Rhodes from an attack by The Bloodline, Punk showed up later in the night, bloodied and beaten up in the backstage area. Standing over him was none other than the already-returning Drew McIntyre, who carried Punk back in the arena to continue his attack, only to be halted by security.

It was revealed in the aftermath that McIntyre would be back on the June 24 episode of RAW, just a week after walking out. McIntyre also reactivated his X account, posting a picture of a bloody-faced Homelander.
