Drew McIntyre Returns On WWE SmackDown

Drew McIntyre back on WWE SmackDown

After just over a month out of action, Drew McIntyre returned to WWE on the December 30 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.

The two-time WWE Champion made the save for Sheamus after he was attacked by Solo Sikoa and The Bloodline following The Celtic Warrior's loss to Sikoa. McIntyre forced The Bloodline to retreat with The Brawling Brutes and the babyfaces celebrated to end the segment.

December 30 was McIntyre's first involvement in WWE since he wrestled at a house show on November 27. Irn Dru was scheduled to challenge for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles with Sheamus on December 9 but McIntyre was medically disqualified due to what was later revealed to be a ruptured eardrum. McIntyre sustained the injury in the main event of Survivor Series WarGames.

McIntyre was originally scheduled to return to action at the December 26 house show from Madison Square Garden but WWE pulled him from the event and all of SmackDown's house shows between Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
