Drew McIntyre with the WWE Championship

Drew McIntyre could be set for a change of scenery when he resurfaces on WWE TV.

WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select has reported that WWE have been discussing Drew McIntyre's return and ideas being talked about would see the 41-year-old make his comeback on Monday Night Raw, with the feeling being that Raw could use a star of McIntyre's calibre over Friday Night SmackDown. McIntyre has been a SmackDown wrestler since early 2025.

Drew McIntyre has been absent from WWE TV since he lost an Unsanctioned Match to Jacob Fatu at WrestleMania 42. The former world champion has been focusing on acting projects since then, including filming his remaining scenes for the Highlander reboot, in which he plays Angus MacLeod. McIntyre has also spent time in Spain filming for The Last Druid alongside Russell Crowe, and he also did filming for a WWE micro drama.

McIntyre was recently spotted at WWE HQ to hold meetings with company officials, as well as film promotional materials for the upcoming micro dramas. WrestleVotes noted there was a plan in place for McIntyre to come back to TV in late August but those plans ultimately changed.

Drew McIntyre is currently amidst his second WWE run, having returned to the organisation in 2017. He has been one of WWE's top stars since 2020, becoming a three-time WWE Champion and one-time World Heavyweight Champion.
