Drew McIntyre To Represent WWE At Special Olympics

Drew McIntyre will represent WWE in Berlin

WWE have announced today that Drew McIntyre will attend the 2023 Special Olympics World Games that are scheduled to take place in Berlin, Germany between June 17 and June 25. 

Berlin will welcome over 7,000 athletes from 190 delegations for the 2023 World Games. The nine days of sport aims to be a "colourful celebration promoting more recognition and inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities."

Drew McIntyre said: "The role of Special Olympics Global Ambassador is one I hold with immense pride. The athletes never fail to inspire and amaze everyone at WWE with their drive and positivity. Being in Berlin for the Special Olympics World Games in person alongside the thousands of athletes demonstrating their skills on a global stage will be an experience to remember."

Drew McIntyre has been a Special Olympics ambassador since 2021. 

Irn Dru has been off WWE TV since WrestleMania 39 due to niggling injuries. McIntyre's future in WWE is currently uncertain as his contract expires in early 2024 and both sides have yet to reach an agreement on a new deal. As of last word, WWE wanted McIntyre to return in time for Money in the Bank on July 1 but the two sides have not agreed on creative.
