Drew McIntyre Vs. Jinder Mahal Announced For WWE SummerSlam

The 3MB bandmates collide

WWE has announced a singles match between Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal for next weekend's SummerSlam pay-per-view.

McIntyre and Mahal have had their run-ins in recent months. At last month's Money in the Bank pay-per-view, Mahal and associates Veer and Shanky attacked McIntyre during the eight-man ladder match, preventing him from being able to win.

From 2012 to 2014, McIntyre and Mahal comprised 3MB with Heath Slater. Both men were released in 2014, before each returning to WWE later in the decade. They both went on to reign as WWE champion.

The current card for WWE SummerSlam, taking place Saturday, August 21 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, is as follows:

* WWE Universal Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs. John Cena

* WWE Championship: Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Goldberg

* Raw Women's Championship: Nikki A.S.H. (c) vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley

* SmackDown Women's Championship: Bianca Belair (c) vs. Sasha Banks

* SmackDown Tag Team Championship: The Usos (c) vs. Rey and Dominik Mysterio

* WWE United States Championship: Sheamus (c) vs. Damian Priest

* Edge vs. Seth Rollins

* Drew McIntyre vs. Jinder Mahal
