Dustin Rhodes Addresses Criticism Of Kicking Out At One During AEW Match With Powerhouse Hobbs

Dustin Rhodes has addressed criticism of his recent AEW match with Powerhouse Hobbs

Kicking out at one has been all the rage in All Elite Wrestling over the past couple of weeks.

Kenny Omega sparked a huge reaction at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door when he kicked out of a One-Winged Angel from Will Ospreay at one and while the spot is usually a rare occurrence, it happened six days later on AEW TV when Dustin Rhodes got his shoulder up at one following a Spinebuster from Hobbs during their Owen Hart Foundation Tournament match on the July 1 edition of AEW Collision.

Rhodes kicking out at one sparked some criticism online, particularly as it came so soon after Omega's major moment at Forbidden Door.

Rhodes has addressed a fan's criticism of the spot, tweeting: "I suggest you sit down again and watch my match over. We do things at the right time for the pop. It's electric when it happens. I kicked out cause I am a tough son of a b***h. Specifically 'Your' opinion doesn't matter."

Powerhouse Hobbs would ultimately go on to defeat Rhodes following interference from QT Marshall. The former TNT Champion will take on Ricky Starks in the semi-finals of the Owen Hart Foundation tournament on this week's edition of Collision.
