Dustin Rhodes Calls Ricky Starks 'The Future And The Now'

Dustin Rhodes thinks Ricky Starks is currently 'killing it' in AEW

Dustin Rhodes has just about seen and done it all during a long and illustrious career, during which he has worked for WCW, WWE, TNA and now AEW.

The tenured veteran knows talent when he sees it and believes that Ricky Starks is going to be the future... as well as being 'the now'.

Speaking about Starks within the context of discussing the ongoing Owen Hart Foundation Tournament during a recent appearance on Sports Guys Talking Wrestling, Rhodes said:

"He's a very young Superstar, and he's going to be the future, I think, and the now. He's just stepping into his own shoes. He's killing it. I'm excited to see that one."

Starks will meet CM Punk in the tournament final on tomorrow's episode of AEW Collision. The Natural noted that "It should be an incredible match".

Dustin also singled out his own tournament match with Powerhouse Hobbs, calling it perhaps the best match Hobbs has had to date while praising the young star's ability:

"I think me wrestling Hobbs in that quarterfinal round was also really impressive, and I really really enjoyed that one, working with him. He is another one that the world needs to look out for, and it was tough, and I'm still kind of sore from him because he's a bad boy. I think he probably had the best match he's had since he's been in the business, and that's a testament to our workability. We had chemistry, and it was really good," said Rhodes.

The 54-year-old previously noted that his AEW contract is set to expire at the end of this month.
