The July 15 edition of AEW Collision is set to feature the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournaments, with Ricky Starks vs. CM Punk, and Ruby Soho vs. Athena or Willow Nightingale set for the show.

The finals of the second ever Owen Cup tournaments will see a special guest in attendance, with a report from Dark Puroresu Flowsion on Twitter stating that the legendary Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger is set to be in attendance for Collision.

Liger himself confirmed the news on Twitter, Tweeting the following:

"I am at Haneda Airport now. From now on, I will go to Calgary, Canada via San Francisco. I was invited as a guest at Owen Hart's memorial tournament ☆ I'm looking forward to Calgary after a long time," reads a translation of Liger's Tweet.

Liger’s history with the Hart family goes back to the late 80s, with the then Keiichi Yamada wrestling in Bruce Hart’s Stampede Wrestling whilst on excursion from New Japan Pro Wrestling. During his time in Calgary, Yamada would team with Owen Hart on several occasions, whilst the two would engage in singles and tag competition against each other over in New Japan, their last match together coming in 1991.

It is unknown what role Liger will undertake on Collision. The show is set for Calgary, Alberta, Canada, the only logical place where the Owen finals could take place, coming as the conclusion to AEW’s recent Canadian tour.
