EC3 Thinks Control Your Narrative Harmed His Career

EC3 on Control Your Narrative

EC3 believes his career has been damaged by Control Your Narrative.

The former Ethan Carter III now finds himself in the National Wrestling Alliance and he is set to main event NWA 75 when he challenges Tyrus for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship in a Bull Rope Match. If Tyrus loses, he will retire from professional wrestling.

EC3 spoke to Pro Wrestling Boom ahead of the match and he admitted he thinks the stigma around Control Your Narrative harmed his career.

"Yes (the stigma around Control Your Narrative damaged my career)... because people that know me and know me very well were so afraid of the political climate, knowing exactly who I am and truly am as a person, that they would not talk about it. So having advocates in all walks of life within this industry that are afraid to speak, they also too don't want to take residual backlash on something that's not true and completely made up," EC3 said.

"That hurts and that strains relationships... I don't need to try to do anything (to change it). I've done nothing wrong. I apologised for nothing, I've done nothing wrong. I continue to live my life to the best of my personal ability by doing great things for other people and I think you have any conversation with anybody who interacts with me in this industry, they will know and say and vouch for my character as a man and a talent."

Initially beginning as Free The Narrative cinematic matches, Control Your Narrative morphed into an independent wrestling promotion launched by EC3 and Braun Strowman in 2022, with the company running their first shows soon after. Plans were in place for a live event tour but those plans were scrapped after Braun Strowman and Karrion Kross agreed to return to WWE.

Shortly after, EC3 announced that CYN was being scaled back and the promotion has been defunct ever since.
