Eddie Kingston's leg injury is worse than first feared.

It emerged in recent days that Eddie Kingston had sustained a tibular fracture to his leg and the former AEW Continental Champion has since revealed to PWInsider that he suffered ACL and meniscus tears as well. Kingston will need to undergo surgery.

The 42-year-old hoped to return in time for All In 2024 on August 25 but surgery means he will likely be out of action for closer to nine months. This would put Kingston on the shelf until January 2025.

Addressing the injuries, Kingston said: "This is part of the game. Injuries happen. I will be back."

Kingston sustained the injury in his No Rope Last Man Standing Match against Gabe Kidd at NJPW Resurgence on May 11. The final spot of the match saw Kidd suplex Kingston through a table draped between the ring and the guardrail, during which Kingston's leg smashed off the guardrail.

Kingston was down for several minutes but he eventually managed to climb into the ring for a post-match angle with The Young Bucks and Jack Perry that saw The Elite beat him down.
