Eddie Kingston Returns On AEW Dynamite
Eddie Kingston is back on AEW TV!
Feb 17, 2022
Eddie Kingston has returned to All Elite Wrestling.
The Mad King had not been on AEW programming since he "quit" the promotion in March and headed to Ring of Honor to feud with Claudio Castagnoli over the ROH World Championship. Kingston then took time off from the end of March as he required hernia surgery but he made his return on the June 14 episode of Dynamite, charging to the ring following the main event of Dynamite as Blackpool Combat Club attacked The Elite.
Kingston, wearing a 'Lois Rules' t-shirt, made a beeline for Claudio Castagnoli and he immediately started biting the ROH World Champion before Kingston took him down with a Spinning Back Fist. Jon Moxley then appeared behind Eddie and the two friends teased coming to blows before they turned away from each other and Moxley was levelled by Matt Jackson.
The Young Bucks then proceeded to beat down Moxley but Kingston pulled them away, at which point Moxley got back to his feet and the two friends butted heads. Before they could come to blows, however, Takeshita appeared and took out Kingston from behind.
The chaos then only continued as Kenny Omega went toe-to-toe with Takeshita, with The Elite clearing the ring of the BCC and Don Callis' latest client. Before Omega could stand tall, he was Superkicked by Will Ospreay and Omega's Forbidden Door opponent ended Dynamite as the last man standing.
Despite his return, Kingston is not expected to be featured on AEW TV for long as he is set to head to Japan in early July for NJPW STRONG Independence Day on July 5 where he will challenge KENTA for the NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship. Kingston will then compete in the G1 Climax, with the critically acclaimed tournament set to run from July 15 until August 13.
