A certain Mad King returned on Wednesday's episode of AEW Dynamite.

Eddie Kingston had been involved in a programme with Chris Jericho and The Inner Circle in recent weeks, seemingly contributing to a fracture in the faction with Le Champion and Jake Hager on one side and Santana and Ortiz on the other.

Kingston had been away from AEW TV for several weeks due to a fractured orbital bone but he made his return in Nashville during Jericho and Hager's match against Santana and Ortiz to support his Proud and Powerful friends.

Kingston didn't get involved during the match but he did spur Santana on to make it to the ropes while he was trapped in the Walls Of Jericho. The Mad King then climbed onto the apron, only to be laid out by Jericho.

This paid dividends for Santana and Ortiz, though, as Santana capitalised on the distraction to deck The Painmaker with a Discus Lariat for the victory.

Hostilities between Jericho and Kingston then boiled over as Le Champion attacked Crazy Eddie and they had to be pulled apart by AEW officials.

The feud is set to continue next week when Jericho and Kingston go face-to-face on AEW Dynamite.
