Eddie Kingston Wants To Open AEW Grand Slam II With Jun Akiyama

Eddie Kingston really wants that match with Jun Akiyama

Eddie Kingston has revealed who he wants to face at All Elite Wrestling's upcoming Grand Slam II show from New York City's Arthur Ashe Stadium on Wednesday, September 21.

AEW will tape Dynamite and Rampage inside the home of the US Open and Kingston revealed he wants to go one-on-one with Jun Akiyama at the show.

"That's where I want Akiyama, put that out there. In a dream world, in a dream scenario, it's me and Akiyama opening that show. When Tony Khan sees this he's gonna go 'Why? Why are you doing this to me?'" Kingston said on Under The Ring

A fan of the King's Road style of pro wrestling, Kingston has long campaigned for a match with Jun Akiyama and the former Triple Crown Champion previously revealed he would be interested in a match with The Mad King.

The match wouldn't pose political difficulties either due to AEW's working relationship with DDT Pro-Wrestling which has seen Konosuke Takeshita establish himself as a rising star in the industry during his recent AEW excursion.

Kingston wrestled Takeshita in early July and Crazy Eddie admitted he loved every second of it.
