After beginning the AEW Continental Classic with an 0-2 record following losses to Bryan Danielson and Brody King, Eddie Kingston has went on to win the whole thing.

Kingston, having won the Blue League, faced Gold League winner and longtime friend Jon Moxley in the AEW Continental Classic final at AEW Worlds End on December 30.

The fans inside Long Island's Nassau Coliseum were behind Kingston throughout but they were initially quietened after Kingston hit his head against the barricade on a botched Suicide Dive. Kingston fought back with some brutal chops and Moxley's storyline injured knee allowed Kingston to connect with an Uraken before he followed up with Machine Gun Chops.

The match became more even from there and eventually broke down to the point both men just slapped each other until Eddie Kingston connected with another Uraken out of nowhere for the pinfall victory. The two friends embraced following the match as Eddie had tears in his eyes.

With his win (a match dedicated to Mad Kurt), Kingston also becomes the Triple Crown Champion. He was already the ROH World Champion and NJPW STRONG Champion but put the belts on the line in the Continental Classic alongside the AEW Continental Title to create the new Triple Crown.

After beginning 0-2, Kingston finished the Blue League with nine points after wins against Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia, and Andrade El Idolo. He then punched his ticket to the final with a win over Bryan Danielson in the Blue League Final, defeating The American Dragon who called him a bum leading into the contest.

Now, Kingston can call himself the Triple Crown Champion.
