Christian Cage Loses TNT Title To Adam Copeland, Immediately Wins It Back At AEW Worlds End

A wild end for Christian Cage and Adam Copeland at AEW Worlds End

Christian Cage was the ultimate opportunist at AEW Worlds End.

Cage defended the TNT Championship against Adam Copeland in a No DQ Match at the December 30 pay-per-view in Long Island, New York. Copeland wore the same gear as his match with Mick Foley at WrestleMania 22 and Copeland and Christian channelled the energy of that match as the Worlds End clash featured a dive through the crowd, a Spear through a table, a Low Blow with a steel chair, and a Sunset Flip Powerbomb from a ladder.

The biggest spot was saved for last, though, as after the fire initially went out, Adam Copeland relit a flaming table with lighter fluid and Powerbombed Nick Wayne on it. Christian then looked to hit Copeland with the TNT Title belt but the former Edge kicked him right in the nether regions before he hit the Killswitch on his former best friend for the victory.

The night then looked to be a happy one for Adam Copeland but Killswitch, who earned a shot at the TNT Title in a Battle Royal earlier in the night, appeared behind the former Edge and took him out with a Chokeslam on a steel chair. Killswitch was then about to cash in his TNT Title shot but he was suddenly pushed by Christian Cage and a whisper in the ear was enough to make a reluctant Killswitch hand the contract to Christian.

Cage then signed his name on the piece of paper and cashed in the contract. Moments later and he was the TNT Champion for a second time, pinning Copeland following a Spear to cement himself as the new ultimate opportunist.

Adam Copeland's TNT Title reign ended after about three minutes.
