Edge Confirms When His WWE Contract Ends

Edge has cleared up details on his WWE contract

Reports over the last week led to it emerging that Edge’s WWE contract ends in September, just a short while after his last contracted match, which ended up being against Sheamus on Friday’s WWE SmackDown where the company celebrated Edge’s 25th Anniversary.

Outside of the speculation and reports, Edge has now cleared up the details behind his contract and has confirmed the fact that his contract does in fact end in September. In an interview on Sportsnet’s The FAN Morning Show, he discussed his contract ending and where his thoughts are currently on retiring.

“I mean, I can't say I haven't thought about it. I have, for sure. But I realize that I haven't come to any conclusions. And I'm kind of torn, honestly. Because I don't want to do this to the point where I don't feel like I'm able to have the output that I want. Because only I know how I feel when I'm deep into a match and go, 'Oof, man, okay, didn't do enough cardio' or 'Man, I did all that cardio and I'm still feeling this way.' That's why I really want to collect myself after this thing. Take just a big ol' deep breath and just decide what that is. My contract is up at the end of September. This is my last contracted match. So I have a lot of decisions to make. But I can't do it now.”

Edge would go on to defeat Sheamus on SmackDown before saying goodbye to the Toronto crowd.
