Edge Reportedly Set To Appear At WWE SmackDown Live 1000

The Rated R SOOOOOOOOOOOOOPERSTAR, is back...

Episode 1000 of WWE SmackDown Live will take place on 16 October, with the company set to bring a number of familiar faces from the blue brand's past back for a celebration of sorts.

According to PWInsider, one of the familiar faces who will be making an appearance is former World Heavyweight Champion, Edge. The Rated R Superstar has made sporadic appearances for WWE since hanging up his tights in 2011 following his WrestleMania XXVII victory over Alberto Del Rio - as well as hosting his own WWE Network show alongside best friend Christian, which is set to return for a second series later this year.

Edge appeared on episode 900 of SmackDown back in 2016, hosting a special edition of The Cutting Edge with the SmackDown Live Survivor Series team before a returning Undertaker ended the show prematurely.

Interestingly, the official website of the arena is currently advertising a ‘Triple Main Event’ for the episode, with AJ Styles taking on Samoa Joe, Daniel Bryan against The Miz, and Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy all set to take place. However, as we all know with these announcements, they aren't always 100 per cent correct and the card is subject to change. Alongside those matches, the arena is claiming The Undertaker will be there which makes absolute sense given his affiliation with the brand, but surely has to be dubious due to his match with Triple H in Australia just 10 days earlier.

Several sources online are also claiming WWE want to bring The Rock in for the show, and are seemingly pulling out all the stops to ensure SmackDown 1000 trumps Raw's milestone show back in 2012.
