El Hijo Del Vikingo Dealing With 'Pretty Serious' Injury

El Hijo Del Vikingo suffered an injury over the weekend

A featured performer in All Elite Wrestling, Ring of Honor, and on the United States independent wrestling scene is currently dealing with a hip injury.

El Hijo Del Vikingo teamed with Gravity and Metalik to defeat Serpentico, Angelico, and Tony Nese at the Saturday, September 16 taping of ROH TV. Vikingo picked up an injury during the match, though, following a dive and he was spotted in a wheelchair after the show.

Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Vikingo is dealing with a hip injury and his AAA Mega Championship match against Komander this weekend is currently in jeopardy.

"He got hurt, as we talked about last night. He got hurt on Saturday night. And it's a hip injury. He's got a title match in Mexico on Saturday against Komander, and the last I heard last night is that it's not 100% that he won't be doing it, although it's probable. They're holding out hope. He was talking like, 'I'm going to try to rehab all week and see.' There's no guarantee that he's wrestling on Saturday. It's touch and go. So that's the situation. But he could be out for a little while, but he didn't break his hip, thank God. It was a pretty serious injury," Meltzer stated.

Vikingo has been AAA Mega Champion since December 2021. He has defended the belt previously against Komander at ROH Supercard of Honor 2023.
