Epico Reveals Andrade 'Hated Sitting In WWE Catering' Every Week

Andrade was granted his WWE release on Sunday

Former WWE superstar Epico says he spoke to Andrade before he was granted his release from the company, revealing his unhappiness at his situation in the promotion.

Andade's release from his WWE contract was granted on Sunday evening following Fastlane 2021, over a week after it was reported that the former NXT Champion had requested to be let go by the promotion.

Initially, WWE were reluctant to allow the 31-year-old to depart, but seemed to change their mind. Andrade's last match on WWE television was last October in a losing effort to Angel Garza.

Epico, who left WWE last April after being let go, has detailed a conversation he had with Andrade prior to his release, in which the former United States Champion expressed his desire to be allowed to follow his dream and wrestle.

Speaking on this week's episode of UnSKripted, he said: "I've been talking to [Andrade]. I saw him in Orlando two weeks ago and he was like: 'They are not doing anything with me and it's not a matter of the money but me following my dreams. I hate sitting at catering every week.'

"It's pretty toxic when you look at it that way. You've got the best performers in the world over there. Just look at the locker room.

"I'm happy for him. He's put in his time there, he's put in his time outside of WWE, he deserved a better spot and now doing his own thing. Nobody can cut his wings off and he can fly high and do what he knows to do best.

"Right now he's one of the best in the world, second to none. On top of that, he's one of my good friends. I was just talking to him today, cracking some jokes and just talking about his future and the future looks bright for him."
