It has been a hot few months for AEW when it comes to PPV success, with All In: London 2026 believed to be the biggest ever PPV buyrate in the company’s history, amassing between 210,000 and 230,000 buys, taking it above the former record which was set back in 2021 for CM Punk’s debut at All Out. Not only that, but last month’s All Out 2026 had a sold out attendance, despite competition from WWE. However, a step back has been taken this month.

AEW hosted the fourth annual WrestleDream PPV on October 17 at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida, with the show seeing a dip when it comes to ticket sales. It wasn’t just ticket sales, as per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there was also a significant drop in PPV buys. It is noted that WrestleDream is believed to have done between around 100,000 and 110,000 PPV buys, which is on the same level as Redemption earlier this year, marking a yearly low.

It is believed that numbers were down both domestically and outside the US, with it also dropping from last year's 120,000 number for WrestleDream 2025, though it is stated that HBO MAX numbers were up from one year ago for the show.
