Bobby Lashley, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin celebrate a victory whilst holding championship belts in an AEW ring.

The Hurt Syndicate have been a big topic of discussion over the last few weeks, sparked by the absence of Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin and MVP from AEW programming, and their lack of being featured in any significant capacity for quite some time. There have been some rumblings that the veteran trio have been refusing to lose to other talents and are unwilling to put wrestlers over, but MVP has been quick to shut this down.

Taking to X, MVP denied all claims of The Hurt Syndicate playing backstage politics, revealing their original desires to lose the AEW World Tag Team Titles to Private Party.

“So I open up Twitter to see lies being reported about The Hurt Syndicate. BLATANT LIES!!! Who is the source of these lies? To the contrary, we wanted to work with younger talent! We wanted to drop the tag titles BACK to Private Party!!! STOP BELIEVING THE BS!”

MVP responded to further posts on social media which detailed these rumours, categorically denying them. The Hurt Syndicate have not wrestled in AEW since the pre-show of AEW All In: London 2026 two months ago.
