EXCLUSIVE: Adebayo Akinfenwa On Potential AEW Debut: "Watch This Space"

Could Adebayo Akinfenwa show up in AEW?

Could Adebayo Akinfenwa be set to appear in All Elite Wrestling?

'Beast Mode' recently made his pro wrestling debut in PROGRESS Wrestling and he is now set to make his in-ring debut at the promotion's Chapter 146: They Think It's All Over event on Sunday, November 27 at the Electric Ballroom in London, England. Akinfenwa will team with All Elite Wrestling's Anthony Ogogo to take on Malik and Kosta in tag team action.

While the match will be in PROGRESS Wrestling, Cultaholic Wrestling's Tom Campbell asked Akinfenwa if his partnership with Anthony Ogogo might lead to an AEW debut, something the former Wycombe Wanderers striker did not rule out.

"Look, I'll always say watch this space. That's how I've always just said it. I've said look, I will not put a lid on anything. I just say watch this space, and yeah, watch this space," Akinfenwa said.

If Akinfenwa were to debut, it would likely take place in the United Kingdom due to his popularity as the former strongest man on FIFA and football league striker. AEW have yet to hold a show across the pond but Tony Khan revealed earlier this year that he is aiming to bring AEW to the UK by the summer of 2023. Any event would likely take place at Craven Cottage, the home of Fulham FC where Khan is the Director of Football Operations.
