EXCLUSIVE: MJF Addresses AEW Backstage Confrontation With Britt Baker

MJF exclusively speaks to Cultaholic Wrestling about his backstage confrontation with Britt Baker

Speaking exclusively with Cultaholic Wrestling's Jack King, MJF has addressed reports of his backstage confrontation with Britt Baker at AEW Dynamite 250 on July 17, noting that he doesn't have to like all of his coworkers and that's fine.

"Tell me if this passes the smell test. I barge into a woman's locker room. I scream in the face of an 110-pound woman, and then I physically threaten her by punching a wall in her vicinity...and I don't get suspended. Does that pass the smell test to you? Almost everything that was written didn't happen," Friedman began.

"Everybody has co-workers at work they may not get along with. I have a feeling that this was blown out of proportion because all of the English wrestling commentary places that make money off of people like me, who are far more rich and talented and handsome and humble, need clickbait," he continued.

"I can sit here and I can say wrestling is a very competitive sport. It breeds a level of insecurity like no other. However, I can easily put over any talent, regardless of whether or not I like them as a human being. I can sit here and I can tell you that Britt Baker vs. Mercedes Moné at Wembley on August 25th is going to be an epic match and we should all be excited to watch it. I don't have to like all my coworkers and that's fine. But yeah, dude, that sh*t was wild to read."

Reports noted that MJF and Britt Baker were involved in a confrontation on Wednesday, July 17. Issues allegedly began after Britt Baker buried MJF and Will Ospreay during their one-hour match over the AEW International Championship (now AEW American Title). Word made its way back to MJF through his fiancee Alicia Atout and Baker later allegedly called Atout a "stupid f*cking b*tch" and said she was going to have the backstage interviewer kicked out of the locker room.

Will Ospreay is reported to have spoken to Britt Baker first about why she was trying to start issues. MJF then later confronted Baker in a common area and punched a wall at some point after the confrontation when he was away from everyone else.

The incident led to Britt Baker being suspended, although she has since returned to AEW TV. MJF wasn't suspended as the perception within AEW, according to reports, was that he was just coming to the defence of his fiancee.
