It's common knowledge at this point that AEW star Bryan Danielson is feeling banged up as his full-time in-ring career winds down.
'The American Dragon' will challenge AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland at All In on August 25 and has made it known that he will wrestle a lot less frequently after 2024.
While a shot at the AEW World Title is in his immediate future, Danielson may also have to go under the knife sooner rather than later.
During a sitdown interview with Jim Ross that aired on the most recent episode of Collision, the 43-year-old said:
"And even the way I feel right now, I mean odds are, I'm going to have to get neck surgery before the end of this year. That's the reality of it. And that's kind of something I have accepted, it's coming down the pike relatively soon".
Ibou of WrestlePurists noted that AEW insists this is a shoot and that Danielson has cut back on his workload significantly because of it.
Danielson has put his career on the line against Strickland's title at All In. A recent report claimed that AEW doctors have placed heavy restrictions on the former WWE Champion ahead of the Wembley Stadium showdown.
Danielson is planning to stay with AEW a long time after his full-time in-ring career comes to an end.
