Finals Of AEW Grand Slam Tournament Officially Set For Dynamite

Samoa Joe and Roderick Strong will meet in the Grand Slam Eliminator finals

Over the last week, several wrestlers have been competing in the AEW Grand Slam World Title Eliminator tournament to decide who will be facing the AEW World Champion MJF at the upcoming Grand Slam edition of Dynamite on September 20th in the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

On last night’s AEW Collision, Samoa Joe and Roderick Strong each earned their spots in the finals of the tournament, both of whom have developed very personal issues with MJF in recent times. Joe and MJF met in the ring last week in a back and forth of insults stemming from an interaction they had back in NXT when MJF played a security guard. In the case of Strong, he has had a lot of jealousy and resentment towards the friendship of Adam Cole & MJF.

Samoa Joe’s journey to the final has seen the ROH World Television Champion defeat Jeff Hardy on Rampage and then Penta El Zero Miedo on Collision. For Strong, he defeated Best Friends member Trent Beretta on Dynamite before going onto outlast Darby Allin on Collision, though not without the inadvertent aid of Nick Wayne and AR Fox, whose arguments ringside led to Allin getting distracted.
