First Match Made For WWE Stomping Grounds
The new name replaces Backlash...
Jun 4, 2019
You may be looking at your WWE calendar at the moment and wondering where Backlash is.
WWE Super ShowDown takes place in Saudi Arabia this Friday, and with Backlash's slated date just 16 days after the company's latest trip to Saudi Arabia, the name was changed - because obviously, it needed to be changed - with Stomping Grounds taking its place.
The first match for the show was... sort of announced last night on Raw, although at the time of writing it hasn't been confirmed by the company.
Roman Reigns started last night's Raw with a promo and was interrupted by The Best In The World, Shane McMahon. This then led to Drew McIntyre appearing, and it was mentioned that The Scottish Psychopath and Big Dog will be having a singles match at Stomping Grounds.
The segment ended with Shane, Drew, and The Revival - who were teaming with McIntyre in a six-man tag against The Bloodline - beating down Roman.
On Friday at Super ShowDown, Reigns has his work cut out as he takes on Shane McMahon in a singles match. McIntyre will be in Shane's corner.
