First Match Revealed For All Star Junior Festival 2023

Nick Wayne and more in action at the All Star Junior Festival 2023 USA

Following the success of the first event earlier this year, the All Star Junior Festival 2023 USA will take place on August 19 at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Much of the card remains a mystery but New Japan Pro-Wrestling revealed the show's first match today, announcing that All Elite Wrestling's Nick Wayne will team with GCW's Jordan Oliver to take on the DDT Pro Wrestling and NJPW combination of MAO and El Desperado. Wayne and Oliver are the East West Express together and they are the reigning GCW Tag Team Champions, having defeated The Motor City Machine Guns for the belts back on March 31.

Nick Wayne recently made his AEW debut following his 18th birthday, losing to Swerve Strickland on the July 12 edition of AEW Dynamite. Wayne has since wrestled for AEW in the Royal Rampage Match on July 21 that saw Darby Allin earn a shot at the TNT Championship at the All Out pay-per-view.

IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi hosted the first All Star Junior Festival on March 1 at Tokyo's Korakuen Hall. The event featured the likes of CIMA, Volador Jr., Ninja Mack, and Shun Skywalker. Master Wato defeated Atsuki Aoyagi in the main event.
