New Japan recently unveiled a new championship, with the World TV Championship set to become part of the fold in NJPW.

After the title was officially shown to the world at NJPW Declaration of Power on October 10, a tournament was set up to crown the first ever champion, with the finals set for Wrestle Kingdom 17 in January 2023.

Now, the first semi final has been set for New Japan’s November 5 Battle Autumn event, with EVIL and Zack Sabre Jr. set to battle for a spot in the final.

EVIL overcame YOSHI-HASHI at the October 27 Battle Autumn event to punch his ticket, whilst ZSJ defeated David Finlay in the night’s other quarter final bout.  The other quarter final bouts are set for NJPW Battle Autumn on October 30, with KENTA taking on SANADA, whilst Toru Yano will face Ren Narita.

The title and all tournament matches are contested under strict 15-minute time limit rules, with any time limit draws decided via coin toss.
