TNA Slammiversary brought the best of TNA and WWE NXT under one roof, and it seems several former NXT and AEW stars were in the building too.
One of TNA’s marquee pay per view events, Slammiversary continued the rivalry between NXT and TNA with Jacy Jayne becoming the dual NXT Women’s and Knockouts World Champion. Many names were backstage at the show in Long Island, New York, with a report from Fightful Select stating that All Elite Wrestling star and former Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo was in the building supporting husband Steve Maclin who wrestled on the pre-show.
Former NXT and AEW star EJ Nduka was also backstage, as was former NXT name Bull James (fka Bull Dempsey). Former TNA X Division Champions and indie legends Homicide and The Amazing Red were also backstage visiting the show, with Red and Homicide both New York natives.
Obviously the biggest name returning to TNA at Slammiversary was AJ Styles, with the TNA icon making his first appearance in a TNA ring in 13 years to put over new X Division Champion Leon Slater, Styles teasing an in-ring return at some point in the future.
