KENTA’s return to Pro Wrestling NOAH has culminated with him winning the GHC Heavyweight Championship - the organisation’s largest prize.

The former Bullet Club member returned to the promotion full-time in early 2025 after departing New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and on night two of NOAH’s 25th anniversary show New Departure 2025, KENTA defeated ally Kenoh to lift the GHC Heavyweight Championship for the second time in his career.

Kenoh’s fourth reign with the title ends after just one day, with Kenoh having defeated Taishi Ozawa for the title on New Departure night One, claiming the title due to referee stoppage before being challenged by KENTA. KENTA himself already has his first challenger for the title, as no sooner had he been presented the title by NOAH and AJPW icon Kenta Kobashi than old rival Naomichi Marufuji appeared to challenge the new champion. The two have challenged for the title on two separate occasions; Marufuji with a successful defence in 2006, and KENTA with a defence of his own in 2013.

KENTA’s first reign as GHC Heavyweight Champion began in January 2013, with KENTA holding the title for 343 days before dropping it to Takeshi Morishima - the same man he won the title from.
