Former Champion Returns On AEW Dynamite

A former champion is back on AEW TV

A former AEW Women's World Champion is back on All Elite Wrestling TV.

AEW broadcast the December 6 edition of Dynamite from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The show featured an AEW Women's World Title match that saw "Timeless" Toni Storm pick up a win over Skye Blue to retain her championship. Following the match, Riho made her AEW return and she avoided a Storm attack, dropkicking the champion out of the ring before she was saved by Luther.

The angle suggests Riho will be the next AEW Women's World Title challenger, possibly at the Worlds End pay-per-view on December 30.

December 6 was Riho's first appearance on AEW TV in several months, having not had a televised match since a loss alongside Skye Blue to Storm and Ruby Soho when the AEW Women's World Champion was a part of The Outcasts on the April 12 edition of Dynamite. Prior to that, Riho last unsuccessfully challenged for the women's title on April 5, sustaining a loss to Jamie Hayter.

Riho did work an AEW dark match in June but she has been away from the promotion since then, only wrestling one match for Singapore Pro Wrestling in August.

Riho was the inaugural AEW Women's World Champion, defeating Nyla Rose for the belt on the first episode of Dynamite in October 2019. She held the belt until February 2020 before dropping the championship to Nyla Rose.
