Former WWE Board Of Directors Member Claims They Reached Out To Janel Grant During Investigation

Claims have been made that the investigative team for Vince McMahon's allegation did in fact reach out to Janel Grant

The lawsuit filed against Vince McMahon over the last few days regarding allegations of sexual assault and trafficking included details of a claim that when investigating the alleged $3 million hush money payments back in 2022, the internal committee in WWE did not approach the victim of the suit, Janel Grant.

A former member of the WWE Board Of Directors has hit back at those claims. In The New York Times, Jeff Speed (who quit the WWE Board Of Directors in January 2023 upon Vince McMahon’s return to the company) made comment on the claims of Grant not being approached.

Speed helped to lead the investigation into the McMahon allegations within WWE, and he has claimed that they did reach out to Grant. The statement made by Speed via the Simpson & Thacher & Bartlett LLP (the third party law firm who led the investigation) states, “I remain confident in our investigation which included outreach to Ms. Grant and engagement with her lawyer”.

Grant’s stance is that she was willing to participate in any investigation, but was not approached. Speed did touch on the horrific nature of the allegations, but did not comment on anything learned in their investigation at the time.
