Former WWE Talent Confirms They Are Working Backstage In AEW

A former WWE coach finds a new home in AEW

A former WWE talent is working with All Elite Wrestling behind the scenes.

It emerged back in the summer that Scott Garland (AKA Scotty 2 Hotty) had been brought in by AEW for a tryout and he was expected to be around for at least several weeks.

Garland must have impressed in his tryout as he revealed on Wrestling with Johners that he is still with AEW and he expects to go "pretty hard" with the promotion from the beginning of 2024.

"I don't think it's a huge secret, I've been working for AEW as a producer behind the scenes. As a coach and producer there. And I have the opportunity to do more with them on a regular basis. So it looks like probably at the beginning of the year, I'll be going pretty hard with them. If everything works out the way I hope it does," Garland said.

Scotty 2 Hotty has plenty of experience working backstage, having served as a coach for WWE from 2016 until he was granted his release in 2021.

Garland has performed on the independent scene since his WWE departure. He has a five-week tour of European indies coming up to round out 2023.
