Backstage News On TNA Wrestling's Return

Further details on the return of TNA Wrestling

Six years on from the rebrand as IMPACT Wrestling, it was announced in the closing moments of Bound For Glory that IMPACT will rebrand as TNA Wrestling from the Hard to Kill pay-per-view on January 13, 2024.

This follows a rise in nostalgia for Total Nonstop Action which had very much replaced the attitude of 'LolTNA' in recent years.

IMPACT President Scott D'Amore provided further insight into the return of TNA, saying during an interview with Tom Hannifan: "This was first formulated early in 2023. The circle kept expanding as the year went on about who was inside that circle and in the know. I remember having this conversation earlier in the year and saying, 'It's a miracle if we see spring without this getting out.' The fact that it was kept under wraps until that night, to me, is truly special. It's a testament to the individuals we have in this company, on camera and behind the scenes. It meant a lot to everybody to create that special moment."

In addition to a new set, the current crop of title belts will be replaced in the lead-up to Hard To Kill.

"We have all new championship belts. I know people have talked about returning to this design or that design, there are some amazing designs. The belts will continue to evolve and change, but we felt it was important that, we're TNA Wrestling, but we're still moving forward. We have all new championship belts and those will be revealed as we lead up to Hard to Kill. One of the things to address is, all the current IMPACT Champions and that lineage will continue. We're not crowning new champions. Fans will be excited to see the belts. We wanted to give them something new and something we push forward with into a new era," D'Amore added.

An iconic element of TNA Wrestling in the six-sided ring won't be returning.
