Former WWE Writer Reveals Randy Orton Reacted Furiously To Storyline Pitch
Orton objected to a proposed storyline involving his family
Former WWE writer Matt McCarthy recently recalled how Randy Orton once reacted furiously to a storyline he was pitched.
Speaking to the Universal Wrestling Podcast, McCarthy outlined how The Viper turned down a proposed storyline that would have involved his family.
According to the writer, WWE's then-Senior Vice President of Creative and Development Eric Pankowski wanted another WWE superstar to reference Orton's ex-wife Samantha Speno and the divorced couple's daughter during a promo, which Randy immediately shot down.
"Whoever his opponent was was gonna mention Randy's wife and Randy's daughter. I believe that this was the scenario, and Randy blew his stack… Randy's just like, 'Why don't we keep my f*cking work at my f*cking work? Leave my f*cking family in my f*cking family's house', or something like that. It was just like, 'Wow, I don't think Randy likes this idea'. That was wild".
Orton's divorce from Speno was finalised in June 2013. He has been married Kim Orton since November 2015.
