Former WWE writer and Scooby-Doo star Freddie Prinze Jr. has detailed his plan to start a California-based professional wrestling promotion in the next 18 months.

Prinze previously revealed that he wanted to start his own promotion in December of 2021, citing WWE's mass releases as motivation for the venture. Now, the actor has revealed his plan on the latest episode of Wrestling with Freddie.

Speaking about the promotion, Prinze Jr. revealed he wants it to be up and running within 18 months, noting it could have been sooner but it would have required Prinze to move to Australia for three months. He has a three-year plan to fund the company before he would need to return to acting.

Prinze already has a commercial realtor viewing properties for what would be a full-time home for the promotion and he has purchased expensive lighting equipment already too.

The promotion would air two-hour shows with storylines based in reality with the goal being to get a TV deal, something Prinze doubts will happen before production begins. Time on the shows would be split equally between men and women and Prinze wants to bring in a booker since he doesn't trust himself to plan out a pro-wrestling show.

In a departure from the rest of the industry, all wrestlers would also be members of the Screen Actors Guild, which would entitle them to insurance and medical benefits.

Prinze was previously a member of the WWE creative team from 2008 until 2009 before returning for another stint from 2010 until 2012.
