Freddie Prinze Jr. Thinks WWE Can 'Save' Cody Rhodes With Win Over Brock Lesnar

Freddie Prinze Jr. thinks a WWE win over Brock Lesnar will do wonders for Cody Rhodes

It’s been nearly two weeks since Roman Reigns left WWE WrestleMania 39 with his title belts firmly in his grasp, and fans and industry insiders alike are still wondering where Cody Rhodes goes next.

On the Raw after WrestleMania, Brock Lesnar turned heel and attacked Cody, setting up a bout at Backlash 2023, but whether Rhodes defeats ‘The Beast’ is anyone’s guess. Former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. thinks a win over the multi-time WWE Champion will ‘save’ his character, saying the following on the Wrestling with Freddie podcast:

"Oh, they're just killing poor Cody. Just killing the poor guy. I mean, look, if he gets to go over Brock Lesnar in Puerto Rico at Backlash, then okay. Then you're saving it because he's beating Brock Lesnar, and then you let him go after Roman again,” said Prinze Jr.

Rhodes’ loss was shocking to say the least, and has been criticised by many. Perhaps Prinze Jr. is right, though, and if Rhodes can overcome even more adversity then maybe he can become ‘the guy’ in WWE. Time will tell.
