Could FTR finally be set to challenge for the AEW World Tag Team Championships?

Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler have been the top-ranked tag team for several months but have yet to challenge for the gold, with The Acclaimed instead earning a shot at All Out in September due to their status as the winningest tag team in AEW history.

The Acclaimed would then defeat Swerve in our Glory in a rematch for the gold at Dynamite Grand Slam and the two teams looked set to have a third and final match but that might no longer be the case.

FTR were interviewed by Renee Paquette on Tuesday's episode of Dynamite about potentially challenging for the AEW World Tag Team Titles. This prompted Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland to interrupt, though, and after a back-and-forth, it was agreed FTR would face Swerve in our Glory in a number one contenders' match next week on Dynamite.

FTR are former AEW World Tag Team Champions, having held the belts in 2020. They are the reigning IWGP, ROH and AAA tag team champions.

Also booked for next week's Dynamite is Bryan Danielson vs. Sammy Guevara, and Chris Jericho & Daniel Garcia vs. Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta.
