Gail Kim Reveals She Would Come Out Of Retirement For Mickie James Match

Gail Kim would lace up her boots once more to face Mickie James

IMPACT have a new Knockouts World Champion after Mickie James lifted the belt for a fifth time with victory over Jordynne Grace at Hard to Kill on January 13.

The win capped off James’ ‘Last Rodeo’ where Hardcore Country would have retired if she lost any matches in her quest to regain the gold, with James revealing that she asked IMPACT Hall of Famer Gail Kim to come out of retirement during the saga.

Whilst Kim refused Mickie’s initial offer, she did reveal to Lucha Libre Online that she’d be interested to tangle with Mickie now James is champ:

"I love and respect Mickie James to the highest regard," said Kim. "If she wanted me to come out of retirement to wrestle her, I would do it, just because I respect her that much. I would just need the time to prepare physically. People are asking, 'does that mean?' Listen, you never say never in wrestling. I don't think I would do what Mickie did, she started at the bottom and worked her way up, that's a lot of matches to have [laughs]. You never say never to a dream scenario. It could be anything, someone just has to put together the right scenario for it to be something. We're all wrestlers, we all love it, it's always inside of us somewhere. We put it to bed, but sometimes a little something comes up."

Gail Kim last wrestled in 2019, losing to Tessa Blanchard at Rebellion.
