Gail Kim Says She Will Not Return To The Ring

She is happy helping others backstage these days

Former WWE and IMPACT Wrestling star Gail Kim has claimed that she will not be making a return to the ring.

During a recent interview with Busted Open Radio, the one-time WWE Women's Champion cited an accumulation of injuries as the main reason for staying away from the squared circle.

"I feel good. When I'm producing and I'm around the ring, and I start to get a little bit physical, I say, 'Oh Gail, you're getting that itch'.

"I do miss it. Of course I miss it, but my body is a constant reminder.

"It's not even just that. There are just so many factors for me to come out of retirement and do that again. It's like, 'OK, do I want my back to get worse? Do I want to take that chance of making it where I do need the back surgery?'. My memory has gotten a little bit worse throughout the whole 15 or 20 years. So I'm like, 'Do I really want to make my memory worse?'.

"Who knows what can happen. I was very satisfied with my end match and the way that it happened. How many people can just close that door and just be happy with that? That's a very rare thing, so for me, am I willing to mess that up no matter how much I miss it? I get satisfaction from being backstage and helping".

Though Kim had two spells in WWE, she is best known for her work in TNA/IMPACT, where she was a seven-time Knockouts Champion and the first female inductee into their Hall of Fame.

Her last match was a loss to Tess Blanchard at 2019's IMPACT Wrestling Rebellion pay-per-view. Since 2018, Kim has worked as a backstage producer for the promotion.
