Brock Lesnar looks stern during his surprise return at SummerSlam 2025

A representative for former WWE employee Janel Grant has issued a statement following Brock Lesnar's return at SummerSlam.

The statement reads:

"For far too long, abuse was allowed to thrive under WWE's leadership. Instead of righting this wrong, WWE has done nothing to ensure those responsible are held accountable. This attempt to sweep misconduct under the rug will backfire. We look forward to the full set of facts, including those about Mr. Lesnar, coming out in a court of law where they belong but, in the meantime, we refer you back to Janel Grant's updated complaint, which outlines, in detail, the abuse she endured by McMahon and others while employed at WWE".

Lesnar had been absent from WWE television for two years. He had been due to return to action in the men's 2024 Royal Rumble match, but was removed from it after he was implicated in Grant's suit against WWE, Vince McMahon & John Laurinaitis (who has since been dropped as a defendant).

Though Lesnar is not listed as a defendant in Grant's lawsuit, it is alleged that McMahon used grant as a sexual pawn to entice Lesnar to sign a new contract during his negotiations with WWE. This included Grant allegedly filming and sending Lesnar pornographic material, while 'play dates' were set up between Grant and Lesnar (which never materialised for various reasons).

WWE's legal department reportedly cleared the 48-year-old to make his return four weeks ago, sparking speculation that Grant's lawsuit with WWE may be about to be settled, either through a monetary out-of-court settlement or through the case moving to arbitration.
