Gangrel Reveals WWE Didn't Reach Out To Him For WrestleMania 39 Appearance

Nobody told Gangrel of any WrestleMania 39 plans

Heading into WrestleMania 39, there were reports that WWE were bringing former star Gangrel back for the Showcase of the Immortals.

It wasn't reported exactly what his role would be, but it was assumed that it would be something to do with his old Brood stablemate Edge (most likely his entrance).

While the Rated-R Superstar did have a Brood-inspired entrance for his Hell in a Cell match with Finn Balor, his vampiric friend was nowhere to be seen. According to Gangrel, he was never contacted about appearing at WrestleMania.

Asked about the situation during a recent appearance on Reffin' It Up with Brian Hebner, the 54-year-old said:

"They may have discussed it, but my phone never rang. I started reading all the stuff, people were calling me, so I wrote Adam [Edge], 'Do you know this started?'. He made a joke, 'These writers think they know everything'. I laughed. I tried to tell a guy to tell them, 'No, I wasn't doing it', but he still ran the story anyway. He goes, 'To be fair, it was pitched, it just never happened'. It was pitched, but I never heard about it. I didn't know anything about it. They never reached out to me. I guess, Edge is always pitching something for me. I think pitched SummerSlam for me, but it got shot down".

Edge had previously used the Brood entrance at SummerSlam 2021 and 2022's Day One.
